WALKIN’ BLUES

Where were you
Saturday night
When I was in jail because I was in an awful fight?
You were roaming’ the streets with a man they call “The Knife”

Where were you
Last Tuesday eve’
When I was at home alone? (And man did I ever greave!)
You were roaming’ the streets with a man they call “The Sleaze”

Where were you
Thursday sundown?
‘Cause if you came home you found I was nowhere to be found
I was roaming’ the streets with the aim to leave this town

Got a job
I work all day
On the street tonight I walk and here I’ll lay
Lawyers have a writ to take away my pay

Had a crib
I had a wife
Seven kids who were my pride and joy in life
Now I have a writ that says to cause no strife

Had a ride
She took that too
Now I walk around the town in holy shoes
While I sing this song I call “the Walkin’ Blues”

Saved!
