Going to the beach was like
Going to Mars or Venus
Then, we moved to San Luis Obispo
Which is inland of Morrow Bay
And Avila and Pismo Beach
I wasn’t into splashing in the waves and
Running back and forth in the sand
I’d get lost in the rocks
The ebb and flow of the tide
The little crabs and the sea anemones
