That's When You'll Know

I’m singing lead on this. It was recorded to 24 track, 2 inch tape, I’m thinking. I have those somewhere, but they’ve turned gooey. Sadly, it seems to go into the red during the chorus, but I can’t fix that now. I have more stories about the people involved in this recording experience than I can shake a stick at and, certainly more than I have room to share here, but I do hope you enjoy listening to it. And maybe someday, I’ll write that book. (*See exciting update below.)

  • In one of those serendipitous moments I love, five minutes after I posted this story about the gooey tapes, I got a call from an amazing producer, Phil York, who I worked with years ago (He did not even know about alonetone until I told him today.) who is an expert at cleaning up old tapes and is going to do that for me. Woohoo! I can’t wait to hear the results.

I wish we could do a nice Willie Nelson tribute, but an original tune. The title would be Can I Call You Willie?

Wonderful vocals, and a nice song to boot. At least going into the red on tape isn't nearly as bad as doing it with digital...

This is very timely and classic. Great singing and backing music. Definitely a winner! Was this recorded to tape? It sounds like it's going 'into the red' but either way this has a great feel to it.
