New strings and an old song. Saw the Staple Family Singers do this live in the late 60's.

Great job -- you give this old number a fine feel. Especially enjoyed the vocals -- you give the song a bit of a haunting chill. very nice picking -- excellent!

This song tears me up. The picking is gorgeous but the lyrics are so emotional, it really pulls on my heart strings. One of the very best Political Folk songs ever.

Picking-wise, perhaps the best rendition of this song I've heard, but the Darlings did sing it sexier! ;)

Lovely stuff! Hemp used to be a big cash crop around here for rope. It's still everywhere!

This song needed written. I'm glad the Fates choose to manifest this one through you. Thank you for delivering this message so tastefully, so righteously. ROCK ON!

The picking is GORGEOUS. The lyrics are the most powerful I've heard in any song ever -- very-well composed. Your vocals reach in deep.
